Sneak Peek :: Carson Family

September 11, 2010

Here is a quick Sneak Peek of the Carson Family!

Sneak Peek :: MKT 3 months old

August 9, 2010

Here is a little peek at our fun shoot yesterday! More to come!

Sorry I had to post this one below. It just makes me smile from ear to ear! Look at her – do you not just want to squeeze her!

REALLY love this one.. REALLY love it!

3 months old and sweeter than ever.

It’s a WEDDING and BIRTHDAY kind of weekend!

July 31, 2010

This weekend I am in Hartwell, Georgia for my cousin Grady’s wedding and my beautiful sister turned 27 yesterday! Some of my most favorite times in the world are when I am surrounded by family. Corny, I know, but I love dysfunctional family dinners and big events that bring together my huge extended family. Thursday night we got to celebrate my sister’s birthday at my parents house. This birthday was extra special because it was her first birthday with her sweet son, J.W.! We then all piled in the car yesterday, her actual birthday, to come to Hartwell and I showered her with hourly birthday surprises 🙂 We are now in Hartwell celebrating the cutest couple ever! I was lucky enough to take their engagement pictures a few months back and am now lucky enough to be with them all weekend! Grady is one of my older cousins who has always looked after me as though he were my brother. He means the world to me and I have never seen him happier. His fiance, soon-to-be-in-a-few-hours-WIFE, is the sweetest, most caring, personable person ever. She clicked with our family immediately, which is hard to do, so we knew she was PERFECT for him!

I hope you enjoy this double blog post of my sister on her 27th birthday and the soon-to-be-married-couple!

Happy Birthday weekend sweet sister and Happy wedding weekend Grady and Amy! I love you all!

ShutterPros :: Workshop

July 29, 2010

I tried to think of a witty little title for this blog but I couldn’t it’s been a long day 🙂

Two weeks ago I was incredibly lucky to be able to attend Abigail Seymour’s full day ShutterPro’s Workshop.  I met Abigail through Google really and then through a friend who worked for her and mentioned my name to her. She has been so incredibly kind to me since I decided to take on the task of starting this small little business and I couldn’t be more thankful. She has done everything from answer overly panicked text messages of mine to allowing me in her house so we could try to figure out why my workflow was so slow to allowing me to shadow her mini-sessions this spring. Abigail has guided me through this whole process with a “paying it forward” attitude. I am so grateful for the time and heart she has put towards helping me and am forever asking her, “How can I repay you?” Her answer is always extremely simple “I’m just paying it forward” and even sometimes there is no answer as if she is ignoring my request to shower her in gifts haha. She is so selfless and her talent is absolutely one of a kind.

I recently did a blog post about a workshop I attended of Abigail’s in April, you can find it here. I went to Hodgin Valley Farm to attend the ShutterPros workshop with about 18 other professional photographers from here all the way to Baltimore and Savannah.  The first part of the day was spent inside talking marketing, workflow, camera stuff, getting to know one another, and asking questions. The second part of the day was spent outside shooting inside and outside in all types of scenarios.

Leigh Pearce, of Leigh Pearce Weddings, is a fantastic event planner that worked with Abigail for the three months prior to the workshop, ironing out the details and logistics of this “pseudo” farm wedding. Our models were some of her clients that she is working with to plan their real wedding which will be in October. Abigail will also be doing their wedding photography for them so this was a great opportunity for everyone! Leigh and her trusty assistant Dylan coordinated with a ton of folks from around the area to get everything we needed. She shopped with Kit Rodenbough of Design Archives for the wardrobe (the dress belonged to Kit’s grandmother), Leigh worked with Stacy from the Farmer’s Wife to make sure we had gorgeous florals, and Lee Comer of the Iron Hen to make sure our belly’s were full. The details these girls took care of are unimaginable! I know I have seen this wedding before somewhere, oh.. right… in the middle of the night when I’m sound asleep, dreaming of the perfect wedding.  There were so many huge contributers to this workshop, I honestly could go on and on and on but I have a feeling most of you won’t read for too much longer 🙂 I am going to list them below. Thank you sooo much to everyone who made this day amazing. I learned so much and met so many amazing photographers and even made some new friends. I hope you like the images below, this was my first “wedding”, so I still have a ton to learn but I had a blast shooting this beautiful couple and working with such talented people! Warning :: I have put a ton more images in this post than I think I ever have. I just wanted to show you guys everything! Kind of like I wanted to tell you guys everything, DANG this post is long! Show some blog love!

July 22, 2010

Just wanted to share a few images from a fun little play date with Ellie and John. More to come!

J.W. :: 3 months old

July 20, 2010

I am about 3 months late in posting these pictures, but better late than never! We shot J.W.’s 3 month pictures in my sister’s front yard and ended up using them for father’s day gifts! This little boy is my heart and my soul and I can not get enough of him. My sister and her husband are the BEST most laid back parents ever, I can only hope I am just like them when I have children! J.W. will be 6 months on August 4th and I can’t wait to take those pictures! I hope you enjoy these, you know I always love the blog love 🙂

These 2 pictures were “taken by Jesus”. Totally unplanned, perfect moment. My sister was in a towel drying her hair and she took a break to hold her sweet little boy. I just couldn’t resist!

I wish I had noticed this at the time but in each lens you can see J.W.’s Mom and Dad! Had I noticed I would have made sure you could see them clearly, love how silly this picture is!

Spending some time with Mom!

This picture is a result of his Dad. His Dad’s Grandmother has a wall of pictures of her grandchildren and children where they are resting on their fists. J.W.’s Dad worked very hard to get him to rest on his fists, but it didn’t work, the pictures ended up pretty cute though.

This is another image that resulted from J.W.’s Dad trying to get him to rest on his fists!

Spending some guy time with his Daddy!

Myself with J.W., excuse the running clothes and running hair! Photo credit to Chris 🙂

Don’t you just want to squeeze him?!

J.W. :: Baptism

July 20, 2010

My sweet nephew got baptized on Mother’s Day. I can’t believe how quickly he is growing and how incredibly sweet he is! Our family could not be luckier to have such a good baby to spend time with and to love on all the time! His baptism was beautiful, he slept through the whole thing, the priest said he never had baptized a baby that slept through the entire ceremony! J.W. wore a gorgeous gown that was also worn by our cousin’s little girl Elizabeth who was just on the blog. Our aunt Eloise was so sweet to get this dress and we are hoping that most of our children will be able to wear this gown. I am loving every minute of watching him grow and I hope these pictures are evident of that!

These 2 pictures we did because my sister and I have pictures in our baptism gowns where we are sitting in a red velvet type chair. Since we don’t have that chair we tried to recreate the picture and we got pretty close! Love these pictures!

J.W. with his parents and grandparents!

These are J.W.’s sweet god parents, Catherine and David.

Unbelievable! This cake was made by Delicious to resemble the gorgeous baptism invitation my sister sent out.

J.W. with his parents, grandparents, and aunt.

On the left is his birth announcement that I was so lucky to shoot and on the right is a beautiful pillow given to him by my incredible grandfather and grandmother, DaddyCush and Eleanor, his great grandparents.

Hope you enjoyed!

Mary Katherine Thacker :: Newborn

July 19, 2010

Meet Mary Katherine Thacker, the beautiful daughter of Will and Tara Thacker! She was born on May 6th, 2010 and weighed 9lbs 3 oz. She is very near and dear to my heart because I grew up with her Daddy, Will. We actually lived on the same street and our family’s have been best friends for as long as I can remember. Mary Katherine looks just like Will and his family but I’m sure will be just as charming and wonderful as her sweet Mommy, Tara! Mary Katherine and my nephew J.W. are a few months apart and hopefully will be boyfriend and girlfriend one day, haha, totally kidding! I hope you enjoy these pictures, I had a blast shooting them! Leave some blog love!

This is Mary Katherine’s Dad’s baptism gown that he wore when he was getting baptized. Mary Katherine won’t actually be baptized in this dress but they wanted pictures of her in it.

Mason thought the blanket was put there for a doggie session! Sweet Sweet Mason!

This picture was used as her birth announcement. I want to give a HUGE thank you to Tara and my Mom! My Mom surprised me with clear stickers with my name, website, and email address on them and Tara put them on the back of all of her announcements! I am so thankful for such supportive friends and family!
